![]() Bermingham was the first Canadian company to install foundations that produce energy for a building. Funded by the Canadian government, the Canada Marine Discovery Centre on the shores of Lake Ontario was designed by prestigious architectural firm Zeidler Partnership Architects. BFS has successfully secured the Canadian rights for ENERCRETE geothermal piles. This innovative technology allows the foundations of buildings to provide the heating and cooling system for the building. It decreases the cost of installing geothermal systems in large buildings by one third and offers the same savings for heating and cooling. ENERCRETE easily conforms to the increasingly important LEED building directives and can be used in most areas of North America. More and more clients are showing interest in specifying this greenhouse-gas saving technology. |

the new construction and will be installing two test caissons in mid-2007.
