Pomerleau and Berminghammer have enjoyed a long working history together. Therefore, when Pomerleau was awarded a project in the Port of Montreal and needed an underreaming system for their 30” (762mm) pipe piles, they contacted Berminghammer. Berminghammer ran a lead system stability analysis using provided weights and determined that Pomerleau’s LS218 crane was not going to be sufficient for the project. Berminghammer engineering determined that Pomerleau would need a 165-ton crane with a Berminghammer L23 Vertical Travel Lead system to complete the installation of the 60’ (18m) long piles. In a period of less than a month, Berminghammer supplied the rental lead and a custom power pack & power pack bracket for the HC165 crane that Pomerleau ultimately procured.
